Membership
Membership is open to men of the age of 18 or older. 16 and 17 year olds can may be a junior member with a signed parental waiver Dues are $25.00 per year for active members, $15.00 per year for associate (non-veteran) members, and free for junior members. You don't need own a horse or even to know how to ride to join!
We are a family friendly organization, with may activities for all!!
The "Troops" and families of the 2nd U.S. Cavalry participate in military and civilian events throughout Montana. These include parades, mounted Cavalry demonstrations, living history encampments, historical gatherings, mobile Cavalry museum, educational military displays, honor guards and ceremonial functions. We are annual participants of Bannack Days.

The 2nd U.S. Cavalry is structured as a regiment with subordinate unit throughout Montana. Troops are located at this time in Helena, Fortsyth, Belgrade, Hobson, Kalispell and Deer Lodge. Each troop is responsible for its structure and recruitment. Weapons, horse and military customs training of the 19th century is ongoing throughout the year.
We have also started a detachment of Infantry: G Co/5th INF who were also historically stationed in Montana. We will also soon be forming a Battery of Artillery.
